IBM, U.S. to Provide Remote Medical Aid in Pakistan

The U.S. Department of State and IBM are leading a public-private partnership to expand the reach of telemedicine in Pakistan. Telemedicine is a system where medical information is transferred via telephone, the Internet or other networks. Through the initiative, patients in remote regions of Pakistan can receive medical care ranging from cardiac assessment to dermatology to acute illnesses.
