IBM and Swiss Hospital Test New Tool for Diagnosing Cancer

Based on decades of experience in designing silicon computer chips IBM scientists have developed a microfluidic probe, which looks like the nib of a fountain pen, to accurately diagnose different types of cancer. The prototype device, which may play an important role in developing personalized cancer treatment strategies, will be installed and tested early next year at the University Hospital in Zurich.
